Weight Management Service
Weight Management Services for adults
We offer a range of services for adults in the Aneurin Bevan Health Board area who would like support with losing weight. These services will provide you with the knowledge, tools and support you need for successful, sustainable weight loss with a focus on promoting health and wellbeing.
During the pandemic some of our services will be delivered remotely by telephone or video link. More details about the services provided and how you can refer yourself can be found below.
Self-refer your pregnancy to Aneurin Bevan SPA
- Aneurin Bevan SPA is an NHS service providing a single point of access for all maternity referrals.
- The aim is to make sure you have access to the right care from day one.
- Aneurin Bevan SPA will triage your referral based on the information you provide and the hospital will contact you to start your antenatal care.
- In the meantime, if you are worried about your pregnancy, please tell your GP straight away.

Silvercloud
People across Wales can now access free online therapy without needing to go through their GP.
People aged 16 and over experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, depression or stress can sign-up for a 12-week course of SilverCloud online therapy via their smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.
We have launched a partnership with south Gwynedd based charity Tan y Maen to help more people access the courses.
The roll-out of direct access to online therapy for Wales’ entire 16+ population recognises that people need immediate help in managing their mental health and wellbeing as the impact of COVID-19 continues to be felt, and reduces barriers to accessing this support.
Physiotherapy Self-Referral - Aneurin Bevan University Health Board
The musculoskeletal physiotherapy service provides support with the management of concerns that relate to the musculoskeletal (MSK) system.
Common MSK concerns involve our muscles, joints and nerves and can include examples such as: low back pain; shoulder pain; soft tissue sprains and strains and osteoarthritis.
MSK concerns can affect you in different ways including pain, stiffness, weakness and difficulty with normal movement and activity. This can impact on your work, sports, hobbies and activities around the home as well as your general wellbeing.
This service is for people from age 11 upwards who are registered with a GP in Gwent.
'CONNECT' Child and Young Person Weight Management Service
CONNECT work directly with the CYP and their families and also link in with other health professionals such as GPs, health visitors, school nurses and teachers to provide an individualised service that meets the CYP’s care needs.
