Clinical Musculoskeletal Assessment and Treatment Service (CMATS) Physiotherapy

This service is designed to improve patient care, by supporting you if you have problems with your joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones and/or sensitivity of the nervous system. It does not replace existing physiotherapy and podiatry services.

Paediatric physiotherapy

Physiotherapists are responsible for the assessment and management of those needing treatment due to accident, injury, ageing, disease or disability through movement, exercise, education and advice.

As paediatric physiotherapists we bring our skills as physiotherapists along with our knowledge on child development and childhood conditions to treat babies, children and young people.  We assess the needs of your child and agree with you and your child, if appropriate, a Physiotherapy plan.  We use education, awareness, empowerment, self management and active participation in your Physiotherapy to promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social wellbeing.

We work alongside others as well as yourselves as patients, parents and carers to agree goals that will help your child.  The professionals we work with include;

  • Paediatricians
  • GP’s
  • Consultants
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Speech and Language Therapists
